How much severance am I due in Poland?

One month's pay for under two years' service, two months for two to eight years, and three months for over eight years - capped at 15 times the national minimum monthly wage.

When does statutory severance apply?

It applies where the employer has 20 or more staff and the termination is for reasons not attributable to the employee (the collective-redundancies rules). Smaller employers aren't covered by the statutory scheme.

Is severance taxed?

Severance is subject to Polish income tax (PIT) but is exempt from ZUS social-security contributions.
