How is statutory redundancy pay calculated?
Half a week's pay for each year worked under 22, one week for ages 22–40, and one-and-a-half weeks for 41+, up to 20 years, with weekly pay capped at £751 (2026/27).
Is redundancy pay taxed?
Statutory redundancy is tax-free. Total redundancy packages are tax-free up to £30,000; pay in lieu of notice is usually taxable.
Do I qualify?
You generally need at least two full years of continuous service.
